About the Women's Initiative
Mission
Assemble together as a community of women to use our tools of leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism to improve lives and strengthen the communities of Greater Boston and Merrimack Valley.
Women United for Lasting Change:
The Women’s Initiative is committed to making a difference in the social and economic issues that face our community every day. The initiative’s framework is directly aligned with United Way's four impact areas of Children, Youth, Employment, and Housing. The Women’s Initiative of Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley will offer educational series, volunteer opportunities and fundraising events to help United Way reach its goals.
- Healthy Childhood Development: Ensuring that local children have the support they need to grow up happy, healthy and ready to learn.
- Youth Opportunities Providing youth with the guidance and opportunities they need to stay on track and graduate with options for the future.
- Sustainable Employment Helping individuals obtain the skills and opportunities they need to build a career and achieve financial stability.
- Housing Working to end family homelesness so that children can grow up in positive, healthy environments.
